𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐬; their distinctive colour points take a long time to fully develop, with most reaching their final, rich colouring between 3 to 4 years of age, though some subtle changes can continue even longer, influenced by temperature. Kittens are born white, and their points emerge gradually, becoming more defined and darker over several years, creating a beautiful contrast with their lighter body fur. 

• 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡: Ragdoll kittens are born white or cream.
• 𝟖-𝟏𝟎 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬: Initial colouring appears on the ears, nose, paws, and tail.
• 𝟏 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫: Markings become more distinct, but the coat is still developing.
• 𝟐-𝟑 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬: Significant darkening and deepening of colour occur, with the contrast becoming pronounced.
• 𝟑-𝟒 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬: The cat reaches its full, mature coat colour and pattern. 

𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Colder temperatures (winter) tend to make the points darker, while warmer temperatures (summer) can make them lighter, even in indoor cats.

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: The specific colour (seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, etc.) influences how dark they get. So, if you have a Ragdoll kitten, be patient; their stunning, full colouration is a gradual process that unfolds over several years!. 

ℝ𝕒𝕘𝕕𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕤 ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤

• 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐥: A “seal ragdoll” has dark seal brown points "face, tail, paws and ears" with a light tan body colour.
• 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞: A “chocolate ragdoll” has milk chocolate points "face, tail, paws and ears" with an ivory body colour.
• 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞: A “blue ragdoll” has dark grey points "face, tail, paws and ears" with a pale grey body colour.
• 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐜: A “lilac ragdoll” has pinkish grey points "face, tail, paws and ears" with a frosty white body colour.
• 𝐑𝐞𝐝 (𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞): A “red/flame ragdoll” in this version the points "face, tail, face and ears" are in a red orange colour, the body is cream with a slight touch of red, colour points show a pink nose, which can be freckled and pink paw pads.
• 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦: A “cream ragdoll” points "face, tail, face and ears" is in a pale cream colour, the body is completely white, nose and paw pads are pink.

ℙ𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕟𝕤 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕍𝕒𝕣𝕚𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤

• 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: “Colourpoint Ragdoll” has dark points (ears, tail, face, and paws) with a body of a lighter shade, the nose leather and paw pads match the point colour.
• 𝐁𝐢-𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐫: “Bi-colour Ragdoll" has dark points (ears and tail), but the mask is interrupted by an inverted “V” running between the eyes and expanding into the muzzle, the body colour forms a “saddle” on the ragdolls back and the remainder of the ragdoll is white, bi-colours have pink nose leather and paw pads.
• 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝: "Mitted Ragdoll” has dark points and lighter body like a colourpoint, but also has white “mitts” on the front paws, white “boots” on the back legs and paws, a white chin/bib, a white strip on the stomach, and a white ruff.
• 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐲: "Tabby Ragdoll" shows dark stripes in body colour in addition to one of the patterns and colours mentioned above, the inside of the nose is brick-coloured, a specialty of the Tabby is that they can unite two patterns.
• 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞: "Tortie Ragdoll” is oddly enough, sex-specific, it appears on females, if you have a red ragdoll with a seal ragdoll or blue ragdoll, you may get some ragdoll kittens with tortie patterns, the blue tortie point or blue cream point variety has bluish gray points with cream patches, seal tortie point is very dark brown with red patches, can show up in colourpoint, mitted and bi-colour varieties.
